Morgan Smith

Graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan made his debut as a Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) then in 2001 made his professional debut with the company as Donald in Billy Budd. A great favorite for audiences in Seattle, Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since that debut -- including the role of Count Alamaviva of Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes The Electra. Smith, a frequent performer has made the Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. He also performed his part in the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral reworking of Brahmsfamous Cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange together with the San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems by Brahms as well as Faure as well as Mozart as well as the masses in C Minor and G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and numerous Cantatas as well as Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and il Moderato. The Creation, Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included as part of the repertoire for concert performances. Morgan Morgan Morgan
